Spirit of Joy is committed to serve our community and the world. We create or join events that will meet the needs of a variety of individuals and groups. The wide range of service opportunities offer everyone choices in volunteering. Click on the image below to learn more about each!
Members support several organizations that assist immigrants with basic needs while moving through the asylum and immigration process. Spirit ofJoy also provides a clothing closet for local needs.
We opens the food bank two Saturdays each month so that those who work will still have the opportunity to obtain food.
Spirit of Joy supports the Children's Home Project in Honduras from donations, sponsoring children, and traveling to Honduras to work with the organization.
We assist in the Habitat for Humanity program on Saturday a month.
Volunteers from Spirit of Joy serve as mentors to parents and children, as well as helping with school activities at Ball Early Childhood Center through the Seguin Independent School District.
Spirit of Joy built and maintain community gardens open to the public on city land adjoining our property. Anyone is welcome to the produce!
An annual event that involves a variety of volunteer jobs such as tying quilts, organizing community closets, making community gardens, and many more.
Each year, Spirit of Joy supports the Tanzanian Watoto project to raise funds and awareness for Tanzanian orphans by giving financial donations. (And, every once in a while, playing in the tournament when we have enough folks to make a team!)
Purses and hygiene items are collected and then packed in gently used purses. These are handed out at the Christian Cupboard.
